Dr Deepak Chellappa is the only registered specialist endodontist residing and working full-time in Wollongong. As the founder of Wollongong Endodontics, he has established the Illawarra region's only dedicated specialist endodontic practice, ensuring patients across Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Dapto and the broader South Coast can access specialist care locally without travelling to Sydney.

After completing his dental degree at Griffith University (QLD) and practising as a general dentist for five years, Dr Chellappa pursued specialist training, completing his Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics at the University of Otago (NZ) in 2019. He received a doctoral scholarship during his postgraduate training and has published multiple papers in peer-reviewed journals. He continues to contribute to the dental community through CPD courses and lectures on endodontic treatment.

Dr Chellappa consults at both Wollongong Endodontics and Southwest Endodontic Centre in Liverpool, bringing specialist endodontic care to both the Illawarra region and South West Sydney. He is committed to working collaboratively with referring dentists, providing thorough consultation reports and remaining available for case discussion at any time.
