Why specialist endodontic treatment is priced the way it is

The fee for specialist endodontic treatment reflects the training, time and technology that underpin a predictable long-term outcome:

  • Specialist training — AHPRA registered specialist endodontists have completed an additional 3 years of postgraduate training beyond their general dental degree.
  • Clinical time — most root canals take 60–90 minutes per visit; complex anatomy requires longer. Your tooth gets the time it needs.
  • Operating microscope — used on every case. Essential for locating all canals, identifying cracks, and treating calcified anatomy.
  • CBCT imaging — three-dimensional imaging for complex cases, included in the consultation fee where indicated.
  • Fotona SkyPulse laser — SWEEPS laser-assisted disinfection used on appropriate cases for deep biofilm disruption.
  • Bioceramic materials — the current clinical standard for sealing root canals.
  • Consistent outcomes — all of the above translate directly into a more predictable long-term result for your tooth.
